Our mission involved creating a modern working environment prioritizing light, spaciousness, and quality while adhering to budgetary constraints. The challenge was to craft serene yet dynamic workspaces that were accessible, functional, and instilled a positive feeling among users. Balancing tradition and professionalism was paramount.
The outcome is a bright, elegant, and contemporary design, offering an array of light-filled, flexible working spaces. A strategically dropped floor adds a touch of drama while dividing the space practically and providing discreet storage underneath. The decision to lower the floor was carefully evaluated for cost-effectiveness, involving the addition of structural steel beams for support.

We take immense pride in the successful delivery of the Royal College of Midwives’ (RCM) stunning new headquarters. Tasked with incorporating the ‘calm and bold’ vision, our aim was to seamlessly blend the RCM’s rich heritage with a contemporary workspace fostering collaboration and adaptability.

Contemporary professionalism
The overall ambiance exudes contemporary professionalism, allowing traditional values to thrive in a modern setting. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was completed on schedule. Commencing site work on June 1, 2020, we navigated the complexities with COVID-secure construction, limited on-site contractors, and adherence to social distancing. Site meetings were conducted over Zoom, and progress was shared through video updates.
